Absolutely! Anyone and everyone can learn to sing no matter the amount of experience!

Once you book a lesson at Sofia's Voice Studio, I will send you a confirmation email and an invoice with all the details you need to know. All payments need to be made 24 hours prior to your lesson. See Studio Policies for more information.

It does depend on what you're wanting to achieve, but for beginner singers, I do encourage regular lessons to ensure progress.

I can't really give you an estimate as it might take some time getting used to the new techniques but it will become second nature in no time! Just remember this is a process and it won't happen over night! 

No stress! You don't have to know how to read sheet music to sing! Of course, it is helpful (especially if you are part of a choir, or want to audition for a show) so I am here to help you learn! 

Think of it as "Story telling through song" - We take a song you're wanting to learn or perform, and we map out the series of emotions behind every phrase, thought and nuance in the song! This is a great tool to learn if you are interested in Musical Theatre.

Not if you don't want to! Musical Theatre is my specialty, however I have a background in several different genres. So I get a better idea of what you're wanting to focus more on, I'll ask you what your favourite song or artist is in our first lesson. From there, I'll help you find the right song or style to better suit your voice.

No it's not normal, in fact singing shouldn't be painful at all! There could be a few different reasons why it hurts, but one of the bigger reasons could just be you're not using your voice correctly. I am here to help with that! We'll find different ways to use your voice in a safer way so you don't damage your voice in the long run. I will go into all of this in more depth during our lessons!

If the pain is persistent, I will encourage you to see a Doctor/ Throat Specialist.

It might take a few lessons for us to gel but it's totally ok if you find that lessons with me aren't working for you! I am more than happy to help you find the perfect teacher that better suits your style. I can put you in touch with few teachers in the Waikato area, or you can visit the NEWZATS (New Zealand Association of Teachers of Singing) website to find a vocal teacher anywhere in New Zealand!
